Victor Mote

William Victor Mote, born December 3, 1960 in Abilene, Texas, at Dyess Air Force Base. Named for his father's father. Married Darla Renee Vette, July 2, 1983 in Lakewood, Colorado, at South Sheridan Baptist Church (875 South Sheridan Blvd.).

Victor is actively involved in the day-to-day operations of two companies which he founded:

Projects

Active projects include (in no particular order):

  • Victor is the founder and an active developer on The FOray Project, an open-source XSL-FO formatting engine.
  • A 21st-century paraphrase of Samuel Rutherford's Lex, Rex, and development of a curriculum for efficiently teaching this material. This is tangentially related to Portage's main work.
  • A nascent effort to create freely-distributable curricula suitable for K-12 education, (primarily, but not exclusively, to assist home-school operations). This is currently being done on an as-needed basis for our own schooling efforts.
  • Marshallese Bible - Efforts to help in the publication of the Bible in the Marshallese language (with a missionary friend).

Projects on the drawing board include:

  • Scanning and digital publication of family photos and memorabilia.

Inactive Projects:

  • From July, 2002 to December, 2003 Victor was an active developer for Apache FOP, an open-source XSL-FO formatting engine.
