Studio Policies
Students must have access to a piano for daily practice. The piano needs
to be in tune and in good working condition.
Students must keep an 8 1/2 x 11" notebook with weekly assignments
and must record daily practice time (40 minutes per day for elementary
students; 60 minutes or more for intermediate and advanced).
Parents must read and sign this notebook weekly.
Lessons are 45 minutes or 60 minutes in length, depending upon the needs
of the student.
Students are expected to purchase all music specified by the teacher.
Students need a music bag in which to transport music.
Borrowed music must be cared for properly and brought to every lesson
until reclaimed by the teacher.
An annual fee of $30 (due with the first payment of the school year) will
be assessed to cover borrowed music and miscellaneous expenses such as
xeroxed copies, charts, awards, and recital expenses.
Students should arrive at the lesson five minutes early to organize
themselves and their music.
Tuition for private lessons is due at the first lesson of each month.
Tuition for hour lessons is $115 per month; tuition for forty-five minute
lessons is $90 per month. This includes 27 private lessons, six group
lessons, three recitals, and other optional activities.
Generally, the student is responsible for his lesson time. This time is
set aside for the student and remains set aside whether attended or not.
Makeup lessons are highly inconvenient and therefore very rare. Refunds
will not be made for students who are unable to attend their lessons;
however, there will be a few days during the school year for students to
schedule extra time if they have had to miss a lesson or two.
Students are expected to participate in recitals and other musical events
encouraged by the teacher.
